+5 is not bad
In Response To: New PO accuracy ()

Erik,
Try resting the watch in dofferent positions overnight, ie, face up, crown up, down, face down, etc. Overnight positions can make up to a 3-4 second variance. You might find one that slows the watch down a little to compensate for the +5 you are getting now. By the way, both of my watches gain time with the face up, so I would start with the crown up or face down to see how that does.

Also, some think the break in theory is myth, others think its true. In my personal experience, one of my watches "settled in" to about 3 seconds slower than out of the box after about 6 months. I bought my PO second hand, so not sure what it was like out of the box, but based on the seller's comments, it kept great time from the get go.

So, I guess the answer is that if it does "settle in" it will probably be a second or so slower.

Try the overnight positions first. You might be able to get it where you would like it.

Mike
