Omega Seamaster 2221.80 vs. 2220.80

Ok, so I bought a lovely quartz Seamaster 2221.80 for $1325. Looks great, runs like a champ, etc. I opted for the quartz movement, because I already have a Rolex Submariner, Tag Carrera, and a handful of other automatic watches, and didn't (at the time) feel that I needed to spend $1,000 more for the same watch that 99% of the public wouldn't know the difference if they saw it on my wrist (and to have another watch to wind, set time, date everytime I wanted to wear it). I thought it would be good to have a "nice quartz watch" that I wouldn't have to worry about starting up again whenever I didn't wear it for awhile, and I admit, it is nice to just go over to the watch valet, pick it up, and put it on.

I have checked out the various "quartz vs. automatic" articles online, but something in me sort of wishes I had the automatic, or possibly even own both. Am I nuts? I plan on passing these watches down to my son (not yet born) so I am a little concerned about the longevity of quartz watches, although my father (who recently passed away) passed down to me, among others, an original Accutron Spaceview, which is also battery powered, and runs great, along with a late 80's RADO DiaStar, also quartz which also runs with no issues. So, in say 25 years, wouldn't I still be able to find batteries, etc. for an Omega Seamaster quartz?

Another issue: I noticed that even the high end quartz watches don't always have the second hand falling right on the hashmarks...one would think that a watch such as Omega would have this absolutely perfect, but this might just be par for the course, as I noticed that the RADO second hand also doesn't fall right on the mark either.

As fellow Omega owners if you saw a guy with a quartz Seamaster, would you all be like, "Oh, that guy went on the cheap and bought the quartz version?" Or what would you think?
