It, for me, is the perfect watch. I needn't tell you it's spec etc. You'll know it better than I do. Suffice it to say I considered it worthy of being my engagement/wedding present that I'll never part with unless to pass on to any future offspring.

However this year, being of a Pre-Moon 69 vintage myself I felt the need to track down a Pre-Moon 69 vintage Speedmaster. Here began a long quest to get one that 'ticked all the boxes' - I could afford, was of the right serial no. range, had the correct bracelet etc. I found one on the 'bay and here it is:

It has appeared before here in connection to the '220 bezel' which hasn't been resolved yet but it leaves another quest for next year!

I don't think I'll be getting another watch for myself anytime soon but with my Father's 70th next year a nice vintage Seamaster is on the cards for him.
