Re: Seamaster probs.
In Response To: Seamaster probs. ()

I was in the exact same position as you were 3 months ago, I saw the website that references a "Horror Story." Since then I have researched numerous sources like this forum, asked several people who own Seamaster Autos and Quartz watches for their opinion, spoke to a couple of jewelers and also sent an e-mail to Omega for information. I went and tried on the Seamaster Pro Full and mid-size and compared them to the Rolex sub. Bottom line, I bought a Seamaster Pro Auto full size from King Jewlers in Mn yesterday and it should be here in a few days. From what I gathered from all the information is that the watch will be sturdy and wear well as long as you take care of the required maintenance and MAKE SURE THE CROWN IS SCREWED IN COMPLETELY.When you look for the Seamaster, be careful of fakes (see the fake section on Zowie) and be careful of some of the not so hot online dealers (see watchtrader.com for "crummy deals"). E-bay can be a good place or a bad place for a deal. Look hard and you will find a good deal on this great watch! Hope this helps.
