Ok...do I get ESQ watch or Movado $100 knock-off ?

Derek

Ok that about much I want to spend on a watch around $100. I looked at Fossil, Swatch and did not like the metal designs. There is a local jewlery store that has ESQs at half prices (getting rid of these old models). I saw this real nice looking piece that "looks" like a Longines piece I saw (but retailed $800).

Now I also saw these Movado fake watch for $100 (they claim it is a very good fake).

As ESQ is basically is just a deptartment brand watch (crap!!)..I am better off with the Movado knock off right ?

Any other brand suggestions ? I looked at Citizen, Seiko and other and didn't like their designs. Looking for a heavy and slim two tone watch.

Thanks

: ESQ is a typical department store brand of
: watches, most of which are basic under $200
: knocks offs of designs of better
: manufacturers. Their highest end watches top
: out at about $350 in the stores (or about
: $475 retail price).

: ESQ is a division of Movado--but that does not
: mean crap as to whether this brand is even
: REMOTELY related in quality, style, or
: manufacture to the company's other brands.
: Many corporations own both high and low end
: brands in the same market. Do not take any
: such statements seriously as they are
: designed to *sound* positive and lull
: uninformed buyers into thinking the low end
: product they are looking at is magically
: better because it is associated with a
: higher end brand.

: They appear to be decent servicable watches in
: the price range that 95% of watch buyers
: will ever spend on a watches.

: Their official web site is supposed to be at
: http://www.esq-watch.com/, but I cannot
: access it at the moment.
