Nothing but a slightly different model.

The SMPs with the automatic Chronometer movement have CHRONOMETER on the dial. The ones with quartz movements are almost identical, except for lacking the word CHRONOMETER and a minor difference in the position of the date window.

In particular, read the sections "How can I easily tell the fullsize, midsize, automatic, and quartz models apart?" and "Should I choose the automatic (mechanical) or quartz movement?"
