Re: New Seamaster: replacement or expansion?

: No word from Omega about any plans to
: discontinue the Bond style.

I had read on it in Chronocentric but I have also been watching Omega's website to discover that, while 6 months ago, most watches displayed where the "old style" while nowadays 90% of them are "new style".

: It also seems very unlikely that they will in
: the near future either. Because of the Bond
: movies, the Bond SMP is the single best
: selling Seamaster model.

I guess that perhaps the current Bond SMP is to be replaced with the next Bond Film. I even think I have seen some ads in spanish magazines with the new model identified as "Pierce Brosnan's Choice"

: But the Basel watch show is coming up. Expect
: new announcements from Omega over the next
: couple of weeks!

Ummm, interesting, I'll have to wait a bit. What is the actual dates for Basel 2001?. The watch is a wedding proposal gift and we are planning the proposal dinner for the first week in april.

Thanks in advance,

Santiago
