596 is the one that really caught my eye. The grooves you mention don't show on the website. Is it just heavy brushing? That 18k case is impressive and I would avoid having the jeweler polish them out. I found it took about a week for me to get used to the look and heft of a big case. Initially it felt like a mini-refrigerator on the wrist.

Wow...4 seconds in 7 hours is a big gain. You might try a new battery. It is of course adjustable at a price. Would Britton's pay for adjusting the movement?

Actually mine (and presumably yours) do sound interesting...if I listen closely there are actually two pitches.
