Thanks Nick,I expected to>>>>

Hear the opposite from this since I know quartz is often regarded as having no "soul" and just a little PC board, capacitor and battery.
I recently bought a Breitling Colt Ocean Quartz and I'm glad I did.I'm single now and can afford to splurge on a nice watch now and then. But once I get married,I know I'll probably not be spending $300 to tune up a watch vs. $3 for a battery every three years.
This is just my way of thinking about this in terms of the future,I'm sure others will disagree.
I also own a total of 16 watches, five of which are autos .I've only 1 watchwinder since they are'nt cheap. So I have a bunch of idle autos most of the time.My quartz is still dead on a week after I put it away.
But once again I'll admit the hypnotic motion of a sweep hand is very seductive......
Thanks for the replies!
regards,
mikey
