It was bid to $1,050, but the reserve was not met. Considering that this watch now represents (a) an authentic Chronomatic case, (b) a pair of what-appear-to-be original hands, and (c) a dial loaded with Chronomatic DNA, this bid price seems about right. I thought that it would go a shade higher.

: If this story is true (and i have a sad feeling it may be the case)
: then gentlemen we have just lost another piece of history.
: It is possibley the 2nd original Chronomatic we have seen come up
: for sale in the last few months where the dial has been
: refinished because of paint failure - (remember the redialed
: "trans" Monaco from Germany - well it actually had a
: low numbered Chronomatic case and the iconic blue lumed hands
: which made me suspect it started life as a Chronomatic model)
: Its sad to see these original pieces being modified by uninformed
: people with the best of intentions.
: R.I.P. little Chronomatic
: Cheers - Darren
