Hi Mick,
Your close-ups are very good. I think without actually holding the watch I would say that I’m 99.9% sure that the case has been media blasted. I think that Abel has hit the nail on the head with something like a 400 grit aluminumoxide.
I wouldn’t worry about the finish too much. I would just enjoy it like it is for awhile. If it starts to bother you, just have it reblacked and it will almost be like new. Or if you like the blasted finish you can have that redone as well.
