Hello,
you are right. The connection of Heuer and motorsports is far more than the wristwatches on some popular drivers arms. Professional timekeeping was their main field and they expanded the marketing activities by sponsoring the drivers and the Ferrari team.
But I still don't understand why Enicar stopped their sponsorship in motorsports although they already had one very very famous ambassador. It seems that something changed their minds about the probability of succes choosing formular 1 as a tool of advert.

: Must be quick now, but let me point out the following: Heuer
: suggests that Fangio was an "ambassador", long before
: the days of Jim Clark. I believe that Heuer was also using
: motorsports in its advertising well before 1967. Heuer's
: connection to motorsports went far beyond one racer wearing a
: particular watch; if you would have surveyed the pit or paddock
: in the 1960s, I believe that you would have seen Heuer as the
: dominant brand of stopwatch, dashboard timer, board-mounted
: timer, hand-held chronograph, etc. I don't believe that Enicar
: played in this market. Interesting to see Jim Clark's watch, but
: this does not seem to evidence a full connection between
: motorsports and the Enicar brand.
