Mass Produced? Mall Trash? Rindt in a Vega?

OK, I will take the "high road", and respond only to a couple of phrases that you have used; no time for a full discourse right now:

  • Mass produced? OK, can you tell me how many of these were made?
  • Mall trash? I'm not sure where you are located, but the nearest mall to Atlanta, Georgia where you might find this one is approximately 6,900 miles away (shortest aerial route) . . . that's right, in Tokyo.
  • Sadly, Rindt passed away a mere five days before the Vega was introduced to the public, so it would be surprising to find that he had any chance to drive this wonderful little car . . . unless he might have had a role in the design and testing; still, I suspect that he might have had some fun in the Cosworth Vega, produced circa 1975.
I enjoy good technology, in many forms . . . also, accuracy in timekeeping is to be admired.

: For someone who possesses as refined a watch sensibility as exists
: on the planet, and who has some of the most beautiful Heuers
: ever produced in his collection, I am amazed that you could
: devote even a "quartz" second of wrist time to a
: proletarian piece of mass-produced, mall trash like that. I know
: we are supposed to refrain from negativitiy and undue snobbery
: on the forum, but for me this is like finding out that Rindt
: liked to drive a Chevy Vega around the neighborhood...
