I like analogies as much as the next guy, but comparing quartz watches to Barry Bonds makes no sense to me. Barry broke the law, the rules of baseball and any other code of morals / ethics that we might impose. I'm not sure that we can accuse the major watch brands of such violations, in producing quartz watches.

If, for whatever reason, you want a highly accurate watch, that can be expected to keep time within something like five to ten seconds per year, then it will need to be what's called "high-end quartz". These are not the quartz watches from the mall, and they are not mass produced . . . I like mine, and have enjoyed wearing it today.
