Flash Report: 24 of 47 Lots Sold; Seven Highlights

Only 24 of the 47 Lots sold, so I would think that the technical issues with the Bonhams.com website may have cost them some bidders. The online bidding system only seems to have been available from Lot 33 onward.

Quick scan of the results shows some highlights:

  • a nice two-register Autavia [Lot 6] at 3,000 Euro (all prices listed here include the buyers premium)
  • Lemania 5100-powered Carrera at 1,250 Euro [Lot 26]
  • automatic Monaco 1133G (gray) at 5875 Euro [Lot 31]
  • ridged-marker (early) Siffert Autavia at 7,000 Euro [Lot 32]
  • automatic Monaco 1133B (blue) at 7,500 Euro [Lot 33]
  • ridged-marker (early) 1163MH Autavia at 3,000 Euro [Lot 38]
  • blue Silverstone on bracelet at 4,750 Euro [Lot 43]
Still, disappointing to see half the watches go unsold . . . we can await further comments as to whether it was the mood in the room, the technical difficulties with the Bonhams website, or something else. One thing I notice: after the online system was working, 9 of the remaining 12 Lots were sold. So I conclude that the technical problems must have cost them some bidders, in the first 33 Lots (which was three quarters of the auction). Of course, there is also the question of how the lots were stacked / sequenced.

So did any of our group buy any of the 24 Lots that were sold?
