Did the frank comments here on the value play a role?
In Response To: The joys of EBay ()

That's what I'm wondering. Maybe members here would have better luck if there was sort of a moratorium on discussing EBAY ended auctions, just long enough to get the item into the buyer's hands. I know, in the early days of another watch forum for military watches almost 10 years ago, we could detect that trend. We were inadvertently educating EBAY sellers and therefore making pieces more expensive and difficult to snare. We also had to avoid discussing running auctions because we'd find they'd get ended suddenly and relisted with our own observations as listing info that boosted the price and the interest from other buyers.

Sure aggravating to have it happen to you, Rob, since you couldn't be more of a gentleman. Better luck on the next one around the bend.

Regards - Bill
