There's a different beef I have with calling anything "Skipper". For the yachts I raced on at the start the skipper was either steering or directing the helm and looking around at all the other competitors. It was the navigator who was concentrating on the watch and calling out time to go. But I suppose "Naverrera" doesn't have quite the same appeal.
