If the crown has been replaced, that is your best argument to demand a full refund. It should have an Omega symbol. It sounds like this particular watch was defective out of the box and returned to an authorized dealer who just unloaded it onto the grey market. Authorizedwatches or the original dealer probably fixed the problem, but should not have sold this as a brand new watch. It should have sold as a refurbished one. Even then, it should have had the original Omega crown.
: Thanks for all the great advice! I am leaning
: towards returning the watch now. Thanks for
: pointing out the incorrect presentataion box
: it came in, I wasn't even aware of that.
: Another problem I found is that while the
: helium release valve has an Omega symbol,
: the crown does not. I suspect they had
: opened up the watch to change the crown...
: but for what reason is beyond me. Overall I
: am not feeling too excited about this
: purchase. So now I am going to move on to
: the PIA task of trying to get a full refund.
: Again thanks for all the help.
