zOwie Omega Forum As the end of the year approaches

We enter a time of reflection, of evaluating the year coming to a close and planning for the year to come.

It is common for many to post a State of the Collection (been there, done that). We could ask Chuck to post a few of his watches a day - that should take us through the end of the year ;)

This would come up at about day seven . . .

[snip]

photo stolen shamelessly from Chuck's excellent website

Since I steal things shamelessly I can't complain without being a Hypocrite. So I won't!

I have also seen postings of My Acquisitions This Year. I thought about doing that, but the notion of collecting the evidence in a single place for my wife to discover . . . and the potential consequences . . . . Nah!!! :)

For some of us it may be a time to note the depth and specificity of our obsessions --

well, I guess that would be me.

So here's a couple suggestions:

1) a state of the collection (SOTC), but Omegas only;

2) this year's acquisitions, any and all brands;

and if you don't want to go the the trouble of accumulating a bunch of photos and composing a good sized post ;)

3) your favorite buy this year;

Ok, I'm going to choose this option for now...:

Which I've been calling "The Quiet Breitling" because it's a pretty muted model styling wise compared to most Breitlings...

I also couldn't let Sam get the only Gold/Titanium bling.

Which has a better W/R rating, Is COSC Chronometre rated, has date, has automatic winding and it still isn't worth what Sam's Two-Tone-Titanium-Teutonic!

4) the watch you wore the most this year.

That's hard to say. I do so much rotation I suspect several watches are close to one another on that one.

I haven't decided which to do myself, but will post later today or tonight (East Coast US time).

Everybody should be able to post on this topic and I can virtually guarantee nobody will make you feel like this guy . . .

With the possible exception of Chuck tweaking me

Nah. That wouldn't be in the spirit of the season!

(I've beeon looking for an excuse to use that photo :)

Happy holidays

Sam

Likewise Sam. I hope you enjoy my contribution.
