These prices are scarey !

here's a few examples ...

Lot 8 - Gemini XII - 3200 USD ( I don't think they cost that from an AD ! )
Lot 10 - Snoopy - 5200 USD ( WHAT !! ??? !!! )
Lot 12 - Apollo X1 - 7100 USD :-(

I give up. You get the Idea. I'm sure you can find some of these watches still in AD windows for a LOT less than these prices.

& some of the Antique pieces have reached amazing highs.

eg
Lot 3 - Speedy mark 2 - 2900 USD !
Lot 4 - Tuetonic ( 2-tone) - 5200 USD

Lot 15 1969 Speedy ( 861) with decimal bezel 10500 USD !!!

Lot 17 "racing" MK II - 4200 USD

Whilst I don't expect these extreme prices can/will be sustained for ever, I think we are witnessing the start of an immediate rise in Vintage Omega prices.

On the positive side,

I expect my Collection to be worth at least 50% more than it currently is in 6 months time .

On the Negative side,

I can't afford to buy any more watches :-(

I entered the first 110 lots in a small Excel spreadsheet. Here are a few facts that I picked out of it....

Total sales price = 1.489 MILLION USD

This is 252% of the lower estimate values & 179% of the upper estmate values.

only 1 single watch ( Lot 33 ) didn't exceed the estimated upper value......

Lot 81 reached nearly 13 times its estimated upper value !!

Unfortunatley I think there are a LOT of bidders , type 3, as I predicted here

So, the really big question is..... What are we gonna do when some posts here for the 1st time & says "Guys, I just bought a watch in the recent Antiquorum auction....... "

Do we laugh at them or just point out some eBay auctions ?
