Hi Guys,

Someone has asked me (via E-mail) how I know that lot 128 is a fake.

Here are a few pointers ( no particular order )

  • 1, it has stubbies ! ( so the dial is 100 %fake ! )
Here's a tiny section of the Hi-Res picture

If you want to see the emntire picture => Use this link But be warned the picture is MASSIVE ! ( about 9 MB)

  • 2, The description says it is a CK 14755-61.... Hmmm looks like a 165.024 to me
  • 3, According to the case back # it's a '61 watch but it was delivered in 1970....
  • 4, the case back is engraved with British Military markings...

Exactly the same as this one...

This picture has been "borrowed" from the excellent Hall of Shame website. VISIT IT !

As they state the serial number A/254/67 has been widely used on many fakes.

  • 5, so given the serial number is A/254/67... ths means the British Military "marked the watch up" in 1967. 3 years before Omega delivered it !

So the case back is 100% fake !

Since it comes with a certificate of Authenticity from Omega, all I can imagine is that the movement in the watch DID comefrom a Military Semaster 300, which matches Omegas records. Can anyone else think how you can, legally, get a certificate of authenticity for this watch ?

A '61 model , delivered in '70 stamped in'67 by the british military (with the same number as countless fakes )... If this was an eBay watch ( which it could well have been a few months ago ) people /collectors would just move on & ignore this watch.

S.
