It seems to me the quickest way to get an answer is to simply go to the dealer and give them the watch for repair, making sure the repair ticket says warranty repair. Why look for a problem when one may not exist? Let the dealer try to make good on his responsibilities before you accuse him of wrongdoing.

At this point, you have no complaint and you have not been harmed in any way. If the service is refused, then you have a "position". At this point, everything you have is hypothetical.

Please remember that you may have been speaking to a sales associate at Goldsmiths (wasn't it?). As many of us have learned, retail sales associates are not necessarily the most well informed about even the products they sell and handle every day, let alone the willingness of the manufacturer of those products to provide service. You may have been speaking to a well intentioned ignoramus.

If you had a problem with your auto, say a Mini, would you contact BMW corporate headquarters in Germany (BMW owns Mini) to determine if a service needed was covered under the warranty or just take it to the dealer? Just take the watch is
