Re: So How is the Look / Feel / Performance ? ? ? *PIC*

The overall appearance is very good considering the price. The various parts fit well and the polished surfaces are uniformly smooth. As mentioned the screw down pushers and crown are functional unlike a more expensive Swiss watch I own. The chrono functions are crisp.

The only shortcoming is the 12 hr register which is actually a second hour hand. As long as they were gearing this up why not make it a 24 hour dial like some of the Russian Buran Regulator chronos do. I could remove the large hour hand and turn it into a regulator dial very easily.

The movement works as well or better than some Russian chronos that use the Valjoux 7734 derived Poljot 3133 movement. Accurate to a few seconds per day and reliable for the time I have had it. In my experience these "new" old movements work as well as the trouble free originals I have owned.

Attached is an illustration of the Buran Regulator dial, possible Alpha Regulator dial, and side by side pics of the Sea-gull and venus 175.
