Re: SMP hands are nicked up!
In Response To: SMP hands are nicked up! ()

: Hi,

: I just received my new Omega 2531.80 (ordered
: online from a reputable company who's name I
: will withhold since I do like this company).
: Upon inspection, to my dismay I noticed that
: the hour hand had a bunch of nicks and
: scratches along the edge, coming in toward
: the center (very small, but at least 9
: marks). The seconds hand (sweep) has two
: small "nicks" at the base of the
: round circle, on the opposite side of the
: red marker.

: The only way I can describe this flaw: Looks
: like these skeleton hands were punched from
: a sheet of stainless steel with a diecast
: punch, but were installed upside down, with
: the rough "underside" edge of the
: hand facing up...the hour hand was really
: jaggedy and marked up, BUT does indeed have
: the illuminescent paint on it facing up, so
: it's NOT upside down. It may have been
: screened on the wrong side, however.

: Anybody else notice this? I've looked at a few
: others in local stores and NONE exibit these
: flaws. I've sent it back for a new
: replacement and should receive a new unit
: back next week sometime. I'll keep you
: posted.

: Aloha,
: Keoni
Visually my watch is flawless. You brought up a good point though about wether these watches are factory rejects that we're buying from internet companies.I've decided I'm keeping my watch since I'm afraid I might replace this one with a watch that is worse than what I have now. Thanks a lot for your insight.I hope you resolve your problem soon so you can enjoy your recent purchase.
