It is on the seam where the case back meets the body of the case. It acts as a seal which breaks if the case back is opened--so it has to be *across* where those two meet.
Not sure about *all* Seamasters, but mine has it at the 6 o'clock position.
Checking it is valid only on a new watch that has not been worn much--such as right out of the box. Remember, this seal can come off from normal wear. Though it is possible for the seal to stay on for years, too. Just don't panic if you have had your watch a while and don't see the seal on it now--it may have worn off over time.
