I'm somewhat hesitant to reply given your e-mail address, but I guess everyone deserves the benefit of the doubt.
To be clear- and I guess you already know this, there are two distinct Monza models that frankly have nothing to do with each other. So I guess the first question is: which watch do you actually like?
The original Monza was a cut-price Carrera, and generally with the PVD coating
The second Monza was released in 1998- first with "Heuer" only markings, in both black and white faced models, and then later the range expanded to include an automatic watch (no Chrono function) and a high-end "Cal. 36" model that used a Zenith movement. Maybe if Chevy hadn't butchered the late 90's Camaro this watch would have been called Camaro, because that's the model that the newer Monza most resembles
I have one of the re-edition Monza models, and to be honest, its one of my favourite watches bar none. I seem to be in the minority however! I keep an eye out for a white faced "Heuer" model to join my black one. I see them come up quite often for sale- even new ones that are old stock.
STG1500 sounds steep to me- even in this world where the British Lira 'aint worth much.
Good luck!
