How would one go about manufacturing a case?

My thoughts are, like with old motors, some parts are obsolete and thus parts have to be made from scratch for the purpose. This is generally deemed ok. If Andy has the most important bits, then if a correct case is unobtainable would one manufactured to correct specifications be a viable option?

Looking at the Gold Carreres its going to look great!
