This Internet thing...

Internet is great but:

- competition increased
- prices first up and now down (or let me say due to competition its an open/global market)
- the good internet times are gone: people have all cleaned up their cellars...even at watch fairs or flee markets you only get rubbish (not only true for watches )
- some companies due to the hype on products re-issued several models: see Autavia; see breitling Chronomatic, see GMT Manhatten from DKNY --> this results in a massive loss of value for some items (not only watches but e.g. Verner Panton design stuff from the 70`s...some lamps dropped from 30 Kusd to 1 Kusd--> unbelieveable)
- and finally it kills the passion here and there as it was possible to complete a collection much faster..so which collection after this collection

Sure many positive arguments too..but finding the "regular" which wakes up in the moring and selling you a "gem" is extremely seldom nowadays...So as you "the local news paper thing" is THE way to make it happen: people 60+ with zero PC background...this hunting is great and more real as you can talk to people...finally having a watyh in your pocket ...driving home...with a great song in the car...just smiling
