Hi Paul

Yes its very interesting for sure...

I have seen quite a few Chronomatics and i believe none have had these special dimpled movements...they are supe rare, i know at least 2 of the Monoaco Chronomatics i have had in my hands out of 4, came from original owners and neither had that movment in, one is 1572xx and the other 1573xx.

I'd say the dimpled movement is either a prototype or (and there seems no way of being certain) they all contained this movement but some were changed at service as we know the early cal 11s had problems with banking and other issues. I know these issues first hand as my transitional 1133b rarely manages a date change at midnight!

: Very interesting discussion. Besides the serial numbers, Arno makes
: mention of some important details that are specific to the 1163
: Chronomatic case and movement. I am struggling to differentiate
: between Rich's example and Jeff's example when it comes to the
: cut out for the pushers. The pushers themselves also seem to be
: similar in that they protrude more than the later examples. It
: would be great if Arno could be more specific about these unique
: case features.

: The movement is also of interest. The auction example has an
: unusual stippled mounting plate (not sure if this is the correct
: name) and I do not recall ever seeing another like it. Maybe the
: Chronomatic owners can advise if there movements are the same.

: I look forward to the replies.
: Regards
: Paul
