Re: Dad's watch: Triple Chrono 2543 ? *PIC*

Expect the watch back next week ! Still excited !!
Anyway, a last minute change to the original plan.

Notice the red hand. Obviously, it was painted red at some point during a serviceing... So, kind of like it, but Peter found an original gold hand to replace it if desired. Being a trooper, he called and discussed if I wanted to keep the red hand as delivered, or maybe I wanted to put a matching gold second hand on. [ Keep in mind, he already has the watch fully adjusted, assembled and tested ]

Hmm, we both kind of like the red, but in the spirit of being true to the original style, I decided to change the hand to the gold one. This way, all the chrono functions are the same color.

Note - the hour and minute hands were obviously painted black as well ... but when he cleaned them, the original gold plating was not great. So - I am keeping those black since it makes the watch very easy to read ( time wise ). No restoration was done on the watch face - want to keep the patina intact. I also elected to keep the original crown and pushers. Heck, who knows how many times my father touched and used those!

So the watch will still show it's age, but now has a full clean "bill of health" on the inside now !! Have a slightly dark brown Lizard band coming with it for evaluation [for now]. Apparently, it looks good. Can't wait ! So, hope to get pics posted soon ...

I know, I am just being a little "too" excited.. lol

Good day.
