WOW! You guys have been great, and very helpful. Thanks to everyone who responded on the forum or e-mailed me directly with advice. Hopefully the watch will soon be in the hands of someone who can restore it and return it to it's proper shape.
I've told those who offered to buy it that they will have to promise to post before and after photos!

:
: We have other regulars who know more about this
: version of the Montreal [Hello, Chuck!!],
: but I believe that your watchmaker is
: correct.
: Beginning around 1977, Heuer made a Montreal
: that was powered by the Valjoux 7750
: movement (Reference number was 750.503).
: Yours has the correct dial and movement for
: this version of the Montreal, but the case
: was entirely different . . . suggesting a
: replacement. Inner bezel was also removed,
: to make the transplant feasible.
: Here is a photo that shows this version of the
: Montreal, in its correct case. (For ease of
: comparison, I will also post your photo
: below.)
:
:
: I won't hazard a guess regarding the value. It
: will be worth considerably more to someone
: who might have a source for the correct case
: and bezel.
