Finding balance

Jeff -

Just adding my two cents (worth about 1.5). I think it's important to find a balance between deterring scam artists—which will never be completely successful—and encouraging non-collectors and new friends to participate in the sales and discussion forums here.

To that end, and like almost everyone has already said, photos would probably be the best way to accomplish that. A further requirement that I don't think would be too complicated or cumbersome for new and old members alike, would be to require at least one of the photos to be on a daily newspaper or other such proof of date. Once you get past that requirement, I wonder if we'd end up deterring folks who are not versed in selling watches online from posting here.

Just my thoughts. I'm glad this issue came up as I've been frustrated over the last few weeks with the high number of idiots trying to rip people off on this site.

Cheers,
Jeff
