Hi everyone and happy new year.
I've had my Omega Seamaster Pro for about 4 years. I paid a retail price of 1,900.00 for it. I knew Omega before the purchase and was absolutely sure of it's quality.
I have several watches. My latest watch is a Ulysse Nardin, by far the nicest.
Anyhow, I purchase a watch winder a few weeks back and put my Omega on it. I was a little unsure if the watch winder would constantly overwind my watch and cause damage. But, I tried it anyway.
Yesterday I noticed that the second hand keeps getting stuck after about 10 seconds. I tap on the glass, and it starts up again. I tried manually winding it a few turns just to make sure it wasn't wound down.
So, I'm very frustrated that I paid this kind of money for a watch that is broken already in 4 years. I have a Seiko automatic (my first) that is 15 years old and still runs like a charm. I paid 300 dollars for it.
Does anyone know what is wrong with my highly unreliable piece of junk expensive watch? I'm very sad. Omega wants 500.00 just to do a 5 year inspection and cleaning on it. That's not even including repairs. I'm not spending that kind of money on this watch. Heck, I can almost buy a new one.
Does anyone know if the watch winder could have caused this by overwinding the watch? Or, what could have happened to this watch? I never damaged it in any way :(
