Let's Focus on the Reference 3006

Jarl has "beaten me to the punch" . . . I added the Reference 3006 to OnTheDash this morning, and already he has found the watch and is discussing it, using it to support an interesting possibility.

Let me point out a couple of items re this Reference 3006 (shown below), which could be relevant to the gray-dialed watch that is under discussion on TZ-UK:

  • The Reference 3006 is shown in a German catalog, from 1979 I believe
  • We see a sample that it was sold by a dealer in the United States
  • We see the "Chronographe Incabloc" on the dial.
  • The movement is not marked Heuer.
So does this prove that the one under discussion, with the gray dial, is authentic. No, but it certainly raises some questions about a couple of strange watches!!

To our friends over at TZ-UK . . . We are happy to be of assistance and glad that you can follow the discussion on this forum.

: It has the same oversized ugly looking Heuer logo and if I
: remember correct, a unsigned Valjoux 7734.

: The little known ref. 3006 has the same ugly big Heuer logo and
: unsigned Valjoux 7734. See:

: The one discussed at TZ-UK has the same hour and minute hand as
: ref. 3006 and ref. 12. The ref. 12 also has the big ugly Heuer
: logo and usigned Valjoux 7734.

: And the one discussed at TZ-UK has the C + number marking on the
: caseback. That tell's us that it was sold by Heuer in
: Switzerland. Se pic from TZ-Uk below.

: My 2 cents is that this a real Heuer from a time when Heuer did
: make a lot of different cheap looking chronographs using
: unsigned Valjoux movements.

: No one belived that ref 741-1 and ref. 3006 was real when the first
: shoved up. I think this one is in the same category.... But
: again, I could be wrong... :-)
