Guilherme:
My mind is at ease . . . there is absolutely nothing better than a watch that can be traced back to its original owner, and when that original owner is a loved one, then it's even more special. Fantastic to learn this about this watch.
As I mentioned, I have created a "Transitional" section for these "2nd-to-3rd" Carrera 1153s. It would be great to have the serial number, either posted here or by e-mail (if you prefer to keep it private). Maybe we can be successful in finding a date / serial number range for these.

: ... but I'm positive on state that this particular watch left the
: production line in this exact configuration - my father has been
: the original purchaser in 1971/2.
: I tend to agree with the "anything with anything" theory,
: especially during this particular period, when the swiss watch
: industry was experiencing a drastic drop on sales (recalls the
: cal.11/12 stamped bridges...).
: Wow, it's realy nice to have a forum like that, full of passionate
: people around these wonderful machines!
: BTW, no guesses on "the mistery behind the watch"?
: Cheers!
