Anybody buying a wristwatch for more than a couple hundred, or arguably even a hundred US dollars can be said to be "showing off."
Especially when a $39.95 Casio will tell time just as well if not better. This argument about Rolex owners owning their watches to "show off" and the same doesn't apply to JLC owners, Omega owners, etc is hogwash.
Anybody who knows watches will be impressed by an Omega, a Rolex, a JLC, etc. People who don't know watches will be impressed by TAG, Movado, etc.
But no one is impressed by a bargain basement Casio. Hence my argument that anyone wearing an expensive watch irregardless of brand, is actually showing off. As is anyone wearing a diamond ring......or perfume....or cologne....
