So let me get this straight.....

You don't respect your Jr. Sales associate for working hard, saving money and buying a nice watch.....because it is a Rolex

But...

You would respect the Hot Dog seller for working hard, saving money, and buying a nice watch...because it is an Omega....

Sounds like a nice double standard to me

Perosnally I saw this guy with the SMP and figured he wanted a decent watch and got a great discount on it at the local wholesale club as they sell a good deal of Omegas for Rock bottom prices, not that he was a corporate exec or anything else as he was rather young.

Also with regards to SMP/Omega fakes...come to the US, specifically Washington DC and NY and you will see many Omega SMP fakes out there, most are not that great, but there are some which are OK....so judging your purcahse on the amount of fakes and their quality is just plain silly IMHO as long as your watch is real...personally whenever I see an Omega the first thing I think is that they cheaped out and went for the quartz model as it seems to be a common trend.

That is great that your father found happiness in a $150 casio....personally I would never spend more than $90 on a Casio but that is just me...I wish I could truly enjoy a cheap watch, but for some reason the one that I have just doesn't interest me....but I am sure you are correct, he never complained because he liked the feeling and the look of ths sub when he was out and about, I am sure now he doesn't do as much and could care less about how he looks as many do when they get older...I know when I am of a good age I will not care what anyone else thinks...but I doubt I will sell my watches, only time will tell.
