I guess it depends on locality with regards to Omega service, as I have heard nothing but good things about Omega Bienne....however in contrast I have heard nothing but bad things with regards to Omega US, which was one of my considerations in a watch purcahse (I just could not see myself having to send a watch overseas just to get "decent" service when I paid a good deal of money for it)

Whereas with regards to the big R, I have heard that their factory service is pretty uniform across the globe and you are guaranteed a basic level of good to excellent service, even though it is at a slight premium over others.

With regards to the fake issue...I have seen both good and really bad examples of both Omega and Rolex fakes....there was a local wearhouse club that sold grey market Omega watches, someone bought a real Omega from them and returned a fake that was good enough to fool the salespeople.

However most of the fake watches I have seen were rather poor in design and construction.
