Re: Seamaster Pro Chronometer vs. Quartz

Thank you for your input!!

I guess I was worried about accidents, such as dropping the watch or swinging my arm and wacking it against a pole...something of that nature. Would both my automatic or a quartz suffer about the same damage? What about all the small parts in an automatic?

Secondly, if I wore my SMP everyday with swapping only once in a while, would I still have to manually wind the crown? Or would I just hold the watch in my hand and shake it or move it in circular or whichever-way direction? I have tried winding the crown but I can't really feel the resistance. Is it VERY subtle?

Lastly, is there a "break-in" time for automatics? Do I need to wind it consistently in a particular way for a period of time? What about measuring how many seconds it is off each day, and adjusting the way I set down the watch before going to sleep?

Any other things I should keep in mind? Such as some sort of "golden rules" for automatics...

Thank you Derek
