Re: Bad service on new watch update

If I had originally sent the watch to Omega in PA I wouldn't have sent the watch back to them to fix it a second time ....... that's why I didn't send it back to Womble Watch Works. I never did hear back from them even though they said they would call.

For Omega to tell me "handling marks" are to be expected during service really turned me off on their product. A few months before buying my Seamaster I had bought the ladies version for my wife ..... Now I'm worried about "acceptable handling marks" when it needs a battery change.

Right now, I'm wearing a Citizen NaviSail. This watch was sent back to Citizen for a battery change a year ago and you'd be hard pressed to tell it was ever serviced. This watch cost me $99. Is it wrong for me to expect the same from my $1800 Omega? Especially since I told Womble I was particularly picky about any scratches, especially on the case back (they told me they wouldn't have to open the watch for a bezel spring change. Oh well.

I was going to purchase a America's Cup sometime in the future, but now I'll pass. I've heard others say Rolex usually returns serviced watches in better than sent in condition. If that's the case I believe I'll eventually get a SeaDweller to replace my Seamaster which has lost its luster to the point I no longer plan on wearing it.

I've always been a champion for Omega when it comes to the Omega vs Rolex debate. Now I feel the fool.
