but again I must point out that the original question was if it was fake , not , does this guy screw "onthedash" members of ebay .

I could have gone to the trouble documenting all of the things that have been said about ELVIRAB and the various alias's he's used. But I figured it would take several hours (at least 6-8) for me to pull together all of the pictures, postings, email messages and replys and then to massage them into a cohesive step by step lawyer-ly prosecution of this fellow.

This guy deals in fake watches. This guy deals in Frankens. This guy fakes parts. This guy takes plain parts and engraves (or has engraved - he might not physically do the engraving) Heuer logo's on parts. I don't trust this seller as far as he could throw me (and I'm John Candy Sized)

Thus far everyone who has come into contact with this seller and then talked to me has come away with a sad and angry tale to tell.

This is like the story of the boy who cried wolf.... However instead of crying wolf, this individual is selling fake watches, he has created such a reputation of ill-will that when a watch comes along that looks like it only has bad hands and a bad bezel, people don't care. They've learned not to trust the source. I don't trust the source of this watch, I don't trust the watch.

To me the chance that it is 100% completely genuine is very low especally when one considers who is standing behind it.

The bezel is the only thing suspect in this watch .

Jeff says the hands are not genuine.

And I submit the seller is suspect in the instance of this watch.

The 2446 series used 7730 as well as 7736 (all the 773somethings are based on the 7730 with the same parts hands etc… ) and they all have the same hands (Including this watch ) .

Jeff says the Time of day hands are not genuine. I trust Jeff on this one.

The watch in question has the same hands that are on the 3 register 2446c .

This is not a 3-register 2446c.

The dial is not a repaint and the legs for the 7730 are in a different place from the 7734 ( very common ) so it is not a Franken dial movement combo .

Dial legs can be relocated by a skilled individual. Such skill is well within the sphere of this seller's capabilities or those who he is in contact with regularly.

The snap back and 7730 used in the early Autavia's were made after the Heuer Leonidas merger so the bridge is correct as well as everything it touches . So that brings us back to the bezel . I'm only guessing here but I think that the Argentine Air Force didn't put a white arrow on the dial like the British ( they don't like each other )

Explaining why a bezel is on a Argentine's watch based on an Argentine Military Hunta's land grab to try to rally domestic support for it's policys, and so they would use a different bezel than the Brits?

I would say that it is a reach. In fact I'd say that it is a r___e___a___c___h. But you're only guessing and no one had advanced a better theory!

Again I think you guys at "onthedash" are great and this is a valuable resource !! I use it to find bastard Heuer Frankens and make them one again ( for my personal collection ) . And I did say to Chuck " I hear You !" which may be a colloquialism and it means I know what you are saying and I agree ! But sometimes we get so angry and set on the kill we loose sight of what is really happening .

I also said ‘But by all means feel free to go ahead and purchase from this seller, perhaps you'll have better luck than everyone else who has.’

I don't trust seller, I don't trust his wares, hence my advice.

Could the onthedash page have reformed this thief ? If so the world is a better place !

I believe the task of reforming this seller is about on par to trying to reform a compulsive liar. I'm not sure it's possible. After what he's done in the past and the tricks he's employed in plying his warez, I honestly don't believe the infinitesimal chance of reformation is worth the effort and resources required to seriously try.

But if you wish to try, more power to you. But sometimes the winning move is to not play with certain people.
