an X File perhaps...

I have seen many on Ebay recently at around £1000, I saw several in the states in October priced at $3000 with little prospect of selling, so it seems very strange, unless there was something about the watches we could not see?

Can anyone comment from the Italian crowd who were present at the auction and who might have perused the watch?

Sometimes there is no rational explanation, it may just have to go down as an "X File"?!
