Re: Patrizzi Auction Results: Three Simple Questions

It was an interesting one to follow on the net- many watches opened well below their designated opening price. Most items only had a handflul of bids, with the exception of the Seafarer and the 1133B Monaco. I agree with all of the sentiments expressed here:
- yes, good to get a focused auction of Heuer watches
- no, not a ground breaking "Heuermania" event- we'll have to wait for that
- Most prices were the acceptable range- I think Nic's point in interesting about the auction attracting a different crowd

Finally, as a potential "remote" bidder, I thought that the photos in the catalog were terrible. Yes, it was nicely laid out, but the details of the finish on the case and the quality of the dials was almost impossible to make out. Most of us take better quality photos for Chronotrader. Perhaps not surprisingly, there was not a single bid from the web (at least accordingly to the site I followed)

Anyway, a good first step and hope that anyone here who bought one of the watches can provide a few photos of their catch!

David
